Excellent choix. Mon choix de boeuf depuis plusieurs années. Je vous le recommande.

The chicken breasts are very tasty. You can tell it is excellent quality. Can't eat store bought chicken anymore because of the difference in taste.

Animal welfare at the heart of our values

At Les Fermes Valens, we promote animal health and well-being. Fed on grass or hay harvested during the summer, our cattle enjoy free access to pasture in Huntingdon and the surrounding region.

Our chickens are fed a natural mix of grains and enjoy large, bright henhouses that allow them to roam freely.

Frequently Asked Questions

Types of Farming

What does natural meat mean? Why is it cheaper than organic meat?

Natural beef is raised on a grass-based diet, with a small amount of grains such as barley, oats, and corn.

Organic meat is more expensive mainly because organic farms must go through a certification process and follow strict standards set by the certifying agency. These inspections and requirements add costs that are reflected in the final price.

What's the difference between natural and organic meat?

The main difference is certification. Organic beef must meet strict standards at every step of production, including animal feed, crop production, farming practices, and regular inspections by a certifying agency.

Our natural beef is also raised according to responsible farming practices, with no added growth hormones or antibiotics, but it is not certified organic.

What's the difference between FREE-RANGE and FREE-RUN eggs?

Free-run eggs come from hens that are not kept in cages and can move freely inside an open-concept barn, with access to nests and perches.

Free-range hens have the same indoor freedoms, with the added benefit of access to the outdoors when weather permits.

Les Fermes Valens organic eggs are 100% free-range, which means our hens have access to the outdoors.

What does 100% grass-fed mean?

A 100% grass-fed animal is raised on grass, pasture, and hay throughout its life, without being finished on grain. The mother also follows a forage-based diet.

Are Valens products fresh or frozen?

Our products are sold frozen. They are packed fresh and vacuum-sealed before freezing. Some products, such as fresh charcuterie and sausages, are sold fresh.

How long can I keep vacuum-packed meat in my freezer?

Well-sealed and frozen meat can last up to a year in your freezer without any problems.

Once my meat has thawed, how long can I keep it in my refrigerator?

Once thawed, meat should remain refrigerated and be handled with care. Since storage time can vary depending on the product and handling conditions, we recommend using it as soon as possible after thawing.
